this page in English on the military website. (My understanding of the amf, based on some poking around, is that it's basically the coastal defence arm/marine corps of the Swedish military, and it does technically belong to the navy - see e.g. Very interesting! So by Life Guard, I assume you mean amfibiekåren, And by your assessment, the naval warfare flotilla would've been more appropriate for a member of the royal family than the marine/amphibious corps? It uses elements of real ones, but adds fake things, and I think that that viking helmet chest badge is just made up for the show by the costume designers, I can’t find anything that looks like that in the real world. So my best guess is that the whole military uniform is fake on purpose. Their green berets and their presence marks them as members of the Life Guard, but it would make absolutely zero sense for Erik to belong to that regiment, so it’s all weird. His epaulettes mark him as a private, but it doesn’t look like an army one, more like a marine one maybe?īut the exact same uniform makes an appearance again at the funeral, the soldiers carrying Erik’s casket are all wearing it, same epaulettes, same chest badge, and no stripes or stars signifying officers anywhere. The uniform is navy blue, but single-buttoned, and it looks like an army uniform, which is a bit weird, because Swedish royals traditionally go in the navy. ![]() He’s wearing a military parade uniform of some sort, but I never did military service, that’s for straight people or something, so I can’t tell at a glance if it’s real or fake.
